Commercial architecture
Commercial architecture spans a wide of building typology, so its definition is similarly broad. For Paterson Architects, our experience has delivered building and spaces that address a commercial imperative, including retail, offices, warehousing, shopping centres, hotels and mixed-use multi-residential design solutions.
Commercial architecture needs to respond to a variety of user groups, ranging from the Client and project stakeholders, tenants occupying the spaces, employees to members of the public, customers and clientele of the businesses within the built form. It is a challenging space in which to work, where developing a relationship between public engagement and the pragmatic functions of a business enterprise is essential.
Our role requires a clear understanding of site opportunities and constraints, including planning guidelines that impact on design outcomes. We work very closely with our Clients to develop a brief to achieve their commercial aims.
PA's experience in this category includes office refurbishments, new office premises and fitouts, showroom and warehouse combinations, community centres, shopping centres, apartments and hospitality and tourism projects.
