Recreational architecture

Paterson Architects has undertaken design and documentation of a wide variety of recreation and community based facilities, all done on behalf of Local Authorities, extending over a period of 30 years. The range of work covers indoor recreation centres catering for up to eight courts, sporting pavilions including club rooms/change rooms, umpires rooms, first aid, stores maintenance sheds for sports fields and feasibility studies for a variety of sporting facilities and playing fields. On behalf of the City of Stirling, we have undertaken a significant number of smaller scale refurbishment/new works. Part of our initial scope was to develop a standardised specification with the City’s Officers to provide consistency in their approach to design aesthetic, product and material selections, trade specifications, maintenance minimisation and longevity. Once finalised, Paterson Architects then applied the City’s new standards across the following range of projects to a cumulative value in excess of $8.5 million (exc GST). This body of work covers a range of refurbishment and/or new recreational facilities projects.
