This 13 floor fitout for the Department of the Attorney – General (DotAG) was a Joint Venture between PA and IA Group.
Prior to winning the commission, PA was responsible for the Project Definition Plan (PDP) which defined the project parameters and verified that DotAG could be accommodated with the Old Treasury Building (OTB) Tower. Changes did occur during the breadth of the full commission but the planning principles established in the PDP guided the development of the fitout. All work was based on the Government Office of Accommodation (GOA) principles.
DotAG is one agency with several internal divisions such as the State Solicitor’s Office (SSO) and Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO). All divisions had specific fitout requirements incorporated into the general office scheme. The central design philosophy was a ‘whole of agency’ approach where facilities could be shared across all divisions. This led to planning efficiencies throughout the agency without compromising on functionality. For instance, a single level houses the central reception, shared meeting facilities and shared amenities. For convenience, smaller amenities were provided on each level but the larger, shared amenity facility allowed the diverse divisions of DotAG to interact.
