5 Scarborough Beach Road
Comprising 42 one and two-bed apartments and ground floor commercial tenancies, PA was commissioned to maximise the development potential of the site.
Development potential was achieved as the City awarded “Design Excellence”, which allowed for density and height bonuses; the development was approved at 6 storeys in an area zoned for 4 storeys.
With two street frontages, a key design principle was to separate the complex into two blocks to engage with both streets. The void formed between the blocks provides high levels of natural light and ventilation to all apartments and forms a secluded courtyard garden at ground level with a gym and BBQ facilities.
